Training is concerned with developing a particular skill to a desired standard by instruction and practice. It is an organized procedure by which people learn knowledge and/or skill for a definite purpose’. Training refers to the teaching and learning activities carried on for the primary purpose of helping members of an organization acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes needed by a particular job and organization.
Are regularly conducted at DVH IMSR. Some of the regular Training sessions are: “Art of Selling”, “Advanced Excel”, “Use of MS Excel in the Financial Markets”, “Entrepreneurship workshops” and others. These workshops are conducted by industry specialists with vast experience in their relevant area. Advanced MS Excel workshop was conducted for one week, Art of selling workshop is conducted every year for two days and these kind of workshops are targeted for the final year students across specialisations. Entrepreneurship workshops are conducted for a day on regular basis and students get a chance to interact with the eminent entrepreneurs, get the clarification on the doubts in entering the entrepreneurship world. Corporate Talks are another set of learning sessions from the people in the corporate world. Business Analysts, HR managers, Marketing and Sales executes share their experiences and make the students understand how the things work.
Mr. Vaibhav Bane, Deputy General Manager – Legal, Tata Motors Limited, Dharwad as part of their CSR activity successfully conducted “Vidyadhanam”, a session called as POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Awareness program for our MBA final-year female students preparing them to enter the professional world.
This session aims to create awareness about the legal rights and protections available to women under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. This helped students understand workplace rights, recognize inappropriate conduct, and learn how to seek redressal through appropriate channels.
Talk on “Junk Food and Its Impact on Students’ Health and Well-being
On the occasion of the 58th Pattabhishekha Celebration of Revered Dr. D. Veerendra Heggadeji, Chairman, JSS Dharwad, the JSS Institute of Economic Research, Dharwad, in association with Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade Institute of Management Studies and Research, Dharwad, organized an enlightening talk on “Junk Food and Its Impact on Students’ Health and Well-being.” On 17th October 2025. The session was delivered by Dr. (Prof.) Poornima Prakash Kulkarni, from the Department of Pediatrics, SDM Medical College, Dharwad. Dr. Poornima shared deep insights into the growing trend of junk food consumption, the reasons behind its addictive nature, and practical strategies to overcome unhealthy eating habits. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining proper hygiene, adopting nutritious food choices, and cultivating healthy lifestyles to ensure the long-term well-being of young people. The interactive session saw enthusiastic participation from students, who engaged in meaningful discussions and gained valuable awareness about making mindful food choices for a healthier future.
Creating Safe Spaces: Insightful POSH Awareness Session at DVHIMSR
An Awareness Session on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act – POSH, 2013 was conducted at DVHIMSR on 15th October for female students. The session was led by Mr. Vaibhav Bane, Deputy General Manager – Legal, Tata Motors Ltd., Dharwad, who shared his deep legal insights in a clear and engaging manner. He explained the rights of women at the workplace, the types of sexual harassment, and the role of the Internal POSH Committee. Mr. Bane also traced the origins of the Act to the Bhanwari Devi case of 1992, highlighting its significance in shaping workplace safety laws. The interactive session encouraged students to identify inappropriate behavior and understand the proper channels for redressal. The session was informative and empowering, leaving female students with a better understanding of their rights and responsibilities.
